PATTERN DESIGN
My time as a surface designer taught me the importance of cultivating a versatile creative toolbox. Often, purchased artwork was used as a starting point for any product collection’s art direction due to tight production and supply chain deadlines. Additional artwork we created had to seamlessly adhere to the visual style of artwork purchased from external studios.
This small selection of surface design motifs contains completely original patterns as well as patterns containing a mix of hand-drawn and purchased art elements. Each individual pattern should appear completely cohesive, without any difference between the “hands” of artists contributing elements within that pattern.
